Description
The Cabernet Sauvignon is a purplish color with notes of ripe fruit berries, eucalyptus, tobacco, and gently toasted barrel wood. The wine is of medium and complex body, with a long and elegant finish. Pair with stew meat, heavy casseroles, or blue cheese. In 1848, with the rejuvenation of the Jewish settlement in Jerusalem, Yitzhak Galina-Shor opened the first winery in Israel, in a basement adjunct to the Western Wall in Jerusalem. The winery’s quality wines gained a reputation within the Jewish community of the time, and were sold door-to-door. During the Turkish riots, the Shor family was forced to abandon the winery in the Old City and rebuild it over a water storage pool in Beit Israel, in the new Jerusalem.
